Title: “It’s Ok”
Description: “I painted this with what someone said who was grieving. Sometimes, the world demands for us to be okay when they ask how we are. Sometimes, maybe a lot of the time, we really aren’t okay. But it is okay to feel that way because we are human, and we can grieve, even when the world says I will give you such and such time to be over it. The truth is, they are uncomfortable with our grief and they don’t know what to do to “fix us”. Grief is a process, and sometimes we need to just be an ear to listen and try our best to understand. This is a short story on this picture: “got out of bed this morning. Her first goal. Then she went a few steps more in getting ready and made up. Something she hadn’t done in a while. She had bed head and that stupid colic wouldn’t go away, but she just did the best she could. She wore her usual shirt close to her neck to hide the saggy skin and looked at herself in the mirror. Where in the reflection she saw the flowers that were given to her from a caring friend that gave her the strength for that day, that time, to venture past getting out of bed. In that note from her friend was… “It’s OK not to be Ok”. ‘”
