This 9″ x 12″ watercolor was inspired by a picture that was taken by a photographer on a free site that got a perfect picture of a hen and her cute little chicks peeking out from underneath their mama’s feathers. Maybe they are trying to get warm or maybe they are being protected by their mom but either way, don’t cross mama! I personally like the blue and purples in this picture. It didn’t start that way but just makes the whole picture come together with the purplish hen house.

These three 7.5″ x 5.25″ each watercolor was inspired by my work with series pictures. I already sold one with cactuses, and wanted to try my hand at something else. My thought was, what would a daisy look big to? A baby bunny, a butterfly and a bee or course! So I had fin painting these in scale.

This 12″ x 9″ watercolor was inspired by the bison at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Denver, CO. It is a place where you can drive through and see all the different animals with mountains, and the city of Denver city-line in the background. It is truly one of mine and my husbands favorite places. We have taken many videos of bison crossing right in front of us and grunting the deep sounds that sound somewhat like a pig!!! This guy or girl was so close to the road. This was originally and adpapted picture that I took.

This 12″ x 9″ watercolor was inspired by The Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Denver, CO. Not only were the bison resting in the fields, the Mule Deer were too. This one had a Magpie resting on it’s back. They are really black and white birds, but in the sun at certain angles it looks like black, blue and white. They are very jumpy birds. They won’t knowingly let you within 10 feet of them. Meanwhile, the deer doesn’t much care. Maybe if he’s lucky that Magpie will pluck some fur off of him to cool him off. It is the natural body exfoliation for them. Ha ha ha.

This 12″ x 9″ watercolor was inspired by reflection and how you can do that with running colors going up and down. What I like about it, is that the ice looks crystal clear and a perfect reflection of what is going on , on shore. I’d love to come to this lake and just stand there for a long timeand listen to the wind flowing through the trees.

This 12″ x 9″ watercolor was inspired by an ostrich that was at The Terry Bison Ranch in Cheyenne, WY. It really does have so many animals and this annoyed ostrich was one. WATCH OUT… if you got too close, it would peck at your head! Yes, they have the warning sign up about that. I think that if there was an expression to be had for this guy… he nailed it!

This 12″ x 9″ watercolor was inspired by a picture that I saw on facebook. They say that this is the train (Cog) you can take up to Pike’s Peak. I have a terrible fear of heights (Yes, I live in Colorado) so I will take everyone’s word for it. Although if I were to go up, for some reason I think I would be better going up this that the steep drive up to get to it. I don’t know… especially with this heavy snow, but boy… what a picture of beauty it would be! But for you that have taken this… what a nice mery this would be to have in your home. This was the painting that brought me out of retirement on painting. It is very special to me.
